PRESS RELEASE: Supremo launches Proof Drinks

WHERE: I completed this piece of work while an intern at Manchester design agency, Supremo.

WHAT: I was asked to write a press release that would gain coverage and awareness for both Supremo and Proof Drinks, who had just launched their new website.  It was only natural to approach a media publication that had an interest in both digital and northern affairs.

WHEN: March 2017

WHY: To raise awareness of the project Supremo had completed, and to position them as a credible northern agency.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Communication – The press release had to be well written and interesting in order for it to be picked up by the media.

Research – To strengthen the story, I researched and added in some facts and figures that illustrated the divide between the creative industries in Manchester and London.

Technical – I created a media list using Gorkana, and then sent the press release out using Outlook.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND:

My first year module Writing for Communication taught me how to write press releases and since then I have built on this foundation of knowledge through various work placements.

RESULTS:

  • Gained coverage on Prolific North which meant Supremo’s impressive work was showcased amongst some of the top industry news.
  • Positioned them as a credible agency, leading to new business enquiries.

MANCHESTER’S SUPREMO LAUNCH NEW PROOF DRINKS SITE

Manchester agency Supremo were approached by Proof Drinks, specialists in premium drinks brands, with the aim of refreshing their site through the use of smooth animated effects and cool, mobile friendly designs.  With a brief that wanted the company positioned as innovators with a disregard for playing by the rules, Supremo were thrilled to take on the project and get to work.

The end result, an engaging design backed with a popular open source CMS platform, allows the Proof Drinks team to keep the site constantly updated and gives them a living, breathing site which is not hindered by reliance on any one agency.

With over 7,500 digital and creative businesses in Manchester*, it’s great to see that Manchester’s flourishing digital and creative sector is attracting business from the capital.

 Ian Cox, creative director at Supremo, said: “It was a fun project and we really enjoyed working with Proof Drinks. It’s nice to see a boutique drinks company from down south choosing to work with us, a boutique digital studio up north.”
